Jazmine Sullivan
Jazmine Jacobson was born in and lived within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam, her mother was a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her the job of curator at the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She together with her family then relocated into the landmark. The 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan began her singing career as a contralto children's choir, then a few years later in the adult choir. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I did solos in the church, and I was asked to join the gospel label at age was 11, but I was not ready to do that," she recalls. "Then the time came that McDonald's held a contest for kids in major cities I had the opportunity to perform 'Accept what God Wills' on Showtime at the Apollo and the audience responded really well". Stevie Wonder sang her part during his 13th birthday celebration. Sullivan was 15 when she at the time, signed her first contract with Jive Records. She recorded the entire album but the album was never released. Sullivan was later eliminated from the record label. Missy Elliott was the producer for a few songs on their debut album. One of them was "Backstabbers" which is a buzz track produced by Timbaland which was composed by Elliott.
